I do not think this should be a campaign issue and in fact it is only being made on by the democrats. Foley left office, Studds did not.

This issue is being pushed on to Americas televisions non-stop by the party that pushes on Americagay Boy Scout scoutmasters. I guess the hypocrisy of this is beyond many americans ability to comprehend, it is okay for gay scoutmasters to molest Boy Scouts but not for a congressman to exchange vulgar messages with a page.

The hypocrisy of the democrats and many of their supporters is beyond belief. The HYPOCRATS!

Karl Rove's orientation has continually been enjoying the politics "pastime." it is not proper whether the candidate genuinely helps the ideologies of maximum folk of Republicans, that is whether the Republicans win the pastime. From Rove's perspective triumphing is all it quite is important. From the Tea occasion... and different daily individuals... perspective what's important is that the Conservative ideology wins the day.

No actually this time it has been alot of Democrats,

Many have made comments like
you knew he was gay and had a interst in kids, why did you let him. ???

What would the liberals say if they had restricted him because he was gay, they would haved been all over.

I think this proves fairly well that there are gays within the Republican party, most may not like the stand on no gay marriage but they like all the other things the party stands for.

And republicans are not homophobic ( since there is no such thing for real, no one is scared of them, maybe feel sorry for them) But it is really too many gays that are scared of the repulicans because some ( not all) want a level of moral values.

the foley scandal is working against the republicans' stance on morals and has caused much of the religious vote to turn away or tend to refrain from supporting the morals position that has worked for the republicans in the past as is always the case when those in power lose sight of their constituancy and act contrary to the base beliefs which put them into power. the republicans are having a hard time justifying their moral stance in light of so much immoral behavior by foley and the perceived cover-up the leadership seems to have engaged in. it has increased the unnease within the party base, and may prevent them keeping control of the house. unless they can get the base motivated to their cause, they will lose this november.

THIS WILL NOT BE THE BEST ANSWER:
You come off as a liberal or dem..so i will never be your best answer choice. since i dont agree with you.

but, the foley incident is just a continuation of many incidents in the history of congress.

Many Democrats did much worse..Foley does not appear to have has 'sexual -in the flesh -contact' just emails cyber etc.

weve had democrat ;eaders and cngreemen who did much worse..
included a PIMP and a Dem who had sex ( actual sex ..not an email..real live penetration ..) with a page ..
yet it wa sall overlooked.

we vote homos , pervs and other sickos inot office coz we are a fallen society !

Let's not confuse the Foley incident with something as simple and innocent as just being "homosexual". He is a PEDOPHILE. And I hope that will bot be the positive focus of the Repub party vote.

besides that, you hold a strong resemblance of my cousin.

Foley isn't the nail in the GOP's coffin the libs and media want. I am sure the republicans have something up their sleeve.

I think it was Bob Beckel (Mondale campaign controller, 1984) who said that the fact the Foley is gay should've sent signals that he wasn't safe with teenaged boys...

You never know with republicans like those but so far they have tried to deny that they knew anything and those who can't such as Hastert have tried to say it in a way that they won't have to resign as well . You know it's funny they cleared another seat .
