I did hear a story once on NPR ( national public radio) about a lady who had a goldfish that was swimming on one side. Apparently, it had ruptured an air bladder or something. What is really funny is that the lady took this fish to a veterinary college, and they did surgery. No kidding. They used one of those tag guns that put the hard plastic ink tags on clothes at stores, to put one of the tags through the fish's back, and put a cork on the other side, so the fish swam evenly. No joke! I think he was even named -- Dragonboy!

we have a gold fish in a bowl that sits on the counter at our job. 'Freddy' can see everyone walking by his bowl all day long and always swims to the top for food. Occasionally when it gets really quiet, you can hear him making little bubble noises with his mouth on the surface of the water. He's my buddy.
