Yeah, Gambit's cool, but in terms of abilities, I still think Wolverine takes it. Not so much b/c of his claws, but b/c of his skeleton & healing abilities.
Any mutant can strike hard, but who else can get back up after getting hit hard?
Just my thought.

Its very hard to make a decision here. Everyone has their share of great abilities and appeal.
From the characters, I like Storm the best. She's powerful and cool in the animated series. She has the power over the elements and serves as a mediator and peacekeeper when X-men have those type of rages. Too bad in the movie, she's the underrated X-men.
But from the story, I follow Gambit and Rogue's relationship. They are very cute as a couple and Im quite sad for Rogue for she can't savour her relationship with Gambit all the time.

Josh Holloway yeah from lost. My fav Xmen from the comics is defently Rogue. From the action pictures is Jean gray. The final movie did not suck i presumed it became exceptionally good. And Cyclops isn't lifeless. Jimmy Marsden stated that Scott could be lower back in X4 plus in case you examine the comics you would understand that not one of the main substantial characters died. Jean retains comming lower back too-what's it now? one centesimal time shes reserected? besides its getting somewhat stressful. Xmen is like Xfiles no one extremely dies in it.

I always side with the Ol' Canknucklehead.... Wolverine.
Not just because of his powers but because of who he is. Here is a man who is the best there is at what he does, enjoys what he does, but hates that he enjoys it. Sure he has been cut open, brainwashed, used and discarded by his governments (both Canada and America) and he still struggles to do what is right. He could have taken the morally easy path and become a stone cold killer, like Sabertooth did. But it is his resolve that makes him the best X-men character.

I've got to go with Rogue. Sure she has standard (power/flight) powers. But she is well nigh invincible and can take pretty much anyone's powers.
But unlike the Superman invincibility, she has more emotional torments than a lot of people which evens her out into a more believable and likable character.

all the characters in the x-titles have such strife, turmoil and inner conflicts that the writers have exploited for years. people trying to come to terms with their powers or just trying to find out who they are. but there is one character who i love the second she was introduce. and that is M
perfection
beautiful and
powerful.
she one of the few characters who is outside the mainstream.
who is rich and comfortable with who she is and her powers.
i wish they would bring back her twin sisters and her demented brother. i think the twin sister could give the cuckoos a run for their money.
wolverine is cool because he is mysterious
gambit is cool because he plays both sides
rogue is cool because she is a tragic character
but M is all of those thinks and more.

I always liked Iceman. With his new found power of being able to reconstruct his body when it is broken and being able to add more ice to his body, he has become even cooler. If he were to unleash all of his powers he'd be a very formidable foe indeed!
