I met this "entertainer" in Orlando in July. We both are 22. I spent about 6000 on her during this 1 month. I came back to my college in PA. I promised her I would visit her soon and often. Since August 1st, we have consistently talked over the phone. She asked for money a couple of times and I sent her about 1000 more through western union. I went to see her again for 2 days on my birthday in September 3rd week. I gave her a 1000 more for a day just coz I loved her. We would talk on the phone and she would be all "baby, I love you" etc. This weekend, on Oct. 7th 06, she asks me to give her 500 to pay her rent or she will be kicked out. I got it from my bro and gave her and told her since its my brothers', to pay it back. She now has not called me since sunday, Oct. 8th or picked up my calls. Last night, I called her 12 times in 12 hours, once every hour just to get a hold of her. Tonite I plan on calling her once every 30 minutes.
AM I HARASSING HER?
wHAT SHOULD I IN THIS SITUATION?

FRANKLY SHE CALLS HERSELF AN ENTERTAINER BUT SHE IS PRETTY MUCH A PROSTITUTE.
MATTER OF FACT I LOST MY VIRGINITY TO HER. THATS WHY I WAS SO ATTACHED TO HER.
I GUESS IHATE TO AGREE BUT IT MIGHT BE TRUE THAT NOW THAT SHE KNOWS I DONT HAVE MONEY RIGHT NOW, SHE DOES NOT WANT TO TALK ANYMORE.
BUT THATS STUPID BECAUSE SHE KNOWS I AM GOING TO EARN MONEY AND USED TO LOVE HER SO MUCH THAT I WAS GOING TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY ON HER IN THE FUTURE. SHE SHOULD HAVE KEPT ME AROUND FOR THE LONGTERM.
I THINK SHE MADE A STUPID DECISION OF COMPLETELY IGNORING ME.
I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND THE PSYCHOLOGY BEHIND NOT TALKING ONE LAST TIME AND ASKING ME TO NOT CALL HER.
I GUESS SHES SETTING A TRAP FOR A CASE OF ME HARASSING HER. I HAVE DECIDED I AM NOT GOING TO CALL HER ANYMORE.
I LEFT ONE LAST MESSAGE IN WHICH I SAID:
"I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE SO I COULD GET MY MONEY BACK IF I WANTED.."
question::::::::::::::::
DOES THIS COUNT AS A THREAT AND CAN SHE SURE ME FOR SAYING THIS AND CALLING HER SO MUCH?

CAN SHE "SUE" ME FOR SAYING "I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE" MAKING IT SOUND LIKE A THREAT. I AM NOT GOOD WITH THE LEGAL MATTERS AND THE FINE LINE BETWEEN EMOTIONAL OUTBURST AND THREAT.
i DONT WANNA LIVE WORRYING ABOUT WHAT IF SHE SUES ME?
I DID CALL HER ONE LAST TIME APOLOGISING AND SAYING I DID NOT MEAN TO THREATEN HER JUST TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT BUT I DONT KNOW IF THAT HELPS.
i THINK I AM WORRYING TOO MUCH BECAUSE I NEVER SAID I WAS GOING TO HURT HER WHICH I WILL NEVER DO TO ANYONE COZ ITS NOT WORTH IT.
JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE I AM OK AS FAR AS LAW GOES?
THANKS

You need some serious counseling. It is far from normal to get so hung up on a hooker, to give her money this way, and to steal it from your brother. Leaving a message as you did can certainly be construed as a threat. Most likely the most she could do is get a restraining order against you, but you'd really better hope that she doesn't have an accident, because you are going to be the prime suspect.
You've made a huge mess here. Had you not left the messages, you might at least have gone to the police and reported her for extortion or even simple prostitution. Now you've muddied the waters with your calls, and the best advice is for you to lose her number, forget where she lives, and never talk about her or to her ever again. If she has your telephone number, start using caller ID or change the number.
Next figure out how to square things with your brother.
And finally GROW UP. If you think you are old enough to have sex, you'd better start behaving like a man and not some love-starved crazy school kid. Take a good look in the mirror - you won't like what you see; but at least you can start working on making yourself into a decent adult.

If you are calling her because she owes you money she will not pay back, a harassment case will not stand up in court. The problem is I highly doubt you have any of these loans IN WRITING, which means she says they are gifts and you are screwed. Your last comment within the law probably does not qualify as a threat (you didn't say you were going to harm her only get your money back, I know where you live and I'm coming to beat you down is a threat) BUT it is definitely intimidation which is illegal as well. Best to cut your ties and get out while you are ahead.

Well, it was kinda stupid to just fork out money like that. You were an easy mark, sweetie. Of course she might just be real busy. If that's the case you kinda screwed it up when you called her every hour. That's something a crazy stalker would do. Get a life and stop being a walking ATM.

I hope you got her to sign a promisory note, saying that she would pay the money back, because if you didn't it's your word against her's.
If you gave her a check, you should have written "loan" on it.
If you have it in writing then you are not harrassing her to try to collect on a loan, but if you don't have it in writing, then she can say you harrassed her and 12 times in one day is far too much.
If you really want to continue seeing her then forget about this money, and see if she pays it back on her own. Otherwise, never give or loan anything to her again.

Stop calling her. You're making an *** out of yourself.
Even if she could sue you, she wouldn't find anyone to take her case, so you likely have nothing to worry about there.
However, keep calling her and you could start running afoul of anti-stalking or harassment laws.

1. Yes, you are, and she can get injunctive relief (stay away/no-contact). Some states also have anti-stalker laws addressing this behavior.
2.Let her go. And learn from this.
