Do polar bears hibernate?
"Polar bears do not hibernate in the true sense of the word. True hibernators experience a marked drop in heart rate and a body temperature that plunges to nearly 0° C (32° F). Polar bears do not enter a state of deep hibernation; instead they undergo 'walking hibernation.' Only pregnant female bears enter a den. They do so in the fall and give birth to their cubs in November or December. The bear family will remain in the den until March or April."

They don't. Animals usually hibernate in the winter months so they don't freeze or starve, but polar bears are so well insulated they actually spend most of their time trying to cool off.

The eat about five times what they normally do, and pack in a lot of fat as winter approaches. They also work on digging a hole in the snow. One day, the crawl into the hole and go to sleep. Hormonal triggers lower their heart rate and body temperature, and they enter a state of bare conciousness (brain shuts down; coma-like), which allows them to sustain themselves on their own body fat until spring arrives.

Like any other bear. They build up fat on their bodies and go to sleep. The build dens in the ice. I have seen it. And don't bother one, they are more aggressive then a grizzly could ever be.

uuuh...like other bears do?
they dig a nice hole (in a snow bank in their case) someplace and go to sleep.
FYI... their feces forms a plug in their anus that prevents them from defecating in their sleep and their metabolism slows to almost comatose status to save energy. Their internal clock awakens them usually as the daylight increases.
