Well I've been thinking of finding a job there since I don't think I have that many options yet without my GED (which I'm working on). But I've been hearing some pretty bad things about Walmart and it kind of bugs me.

As long as you don't mind supporting the communist regime in China, go to walmart. walmart is as pink as they come.

Since you are working on getting your GED a job at Wallmart isn't a career. You are just looking for something to get you buy until you can finish up school...

Walmart has one of the most lenient standards for hiring employees. They hire ex cons, people without high school diploma's, the elderly...

So finish up school, enroll in a community college or technical school and you won't have to work at places like Walmart. Find something you enjoy doing cause it's a long way to retirement....

I have been with the Wal Mart corporation for over 7 years now and I honestly love my job. I have worked in almost every department in the store and I have loved all but maybe 2 departments and the only reason why I didn't like those departments is because they were kind of boring. There are many opportunities in the company you just have to work for hard for those opportunities. The managers at my store will work with you on alot of different levels. I would go for it and see if you like it what do you have to lose honestly! Its a nice place to work for!!!

I worked at Wal-Mart 10 years ago, when my husband worked days & I worked nights. It was a bad paying job, but the job itself was cake. I worked Lay-Away, which was easy & fun, I worked the floor, cleaning up and rearranging clothes and I also worked the register. Within a month of working the register I was asked to be a CSM (customer service manager) but then we moved. I have since moved on, but Wal-Mart was really not a bad place to work. As long as you work hard, don't slack off, respect your job & your co-workers, you should be fine until you get that GED and get a higher paying job. Good Luck!

My mother-in-law has worked for walmart for about 11 years . She loves it! They don't pay alot to start but now she is making decent money. They also give you shares of stock. When she gets in a bind she can always cash some in. They have pretty decent health insurance. Employee discounts. Flexible hours.
I say give it a go. You never have to worry about layoffs or going out of business.

ill say this once, krunkee. get that job at wallmart, get another job another place. every week do not spend ur money on stupid stuff. after a month or so , go to bank, open brokerage wall street account. put $500 in it every 3months. at end of 3yrs or so, u will have enough to leave second job or even wallmart too. u might even work at one wallmart part time, then go over the next town and work at another wallmart part time. so good luck

I used to work at Wal-mart. I never had any kind of problems and I loved my job. I used to unload the trucks at night. Retail work sometimes sucks...thats just the way life is. Especially the closer it gets to Christmas. People just seem to get stupid this time of year. But give Wal-mart a try. You might really like it!

Try Home Depot or Costco.

Wal-Mart was hit with a discrimination lawsuit and now it is trying to promote females to correct the action, so that could be good for you if you're female.
