A long time ago I had a roommate that got married...we were good friends at the time...even worked together. After she got married she told me that we couldn't be friends anymore because I was single and she was married. I was crushed. Her marriage only lasted a few years, but the friendship was never to be mended. There was no reason for her to end the friendship in the first place. It was pretty warped thinking.

Yeah my husband, he was my friend now he's a big confrontational jerk! He say's I'm too fat and constantly ignors me and sits to play fifa soccer on the computer for 8 hours or more. He was a completely different person when we got married, but haven't we all heard this story before.

I wouldn't classify my friend as a jerk.

Having said that, one of my best friends (I was in his wedding, that close of a friend) married a highschool sweetheart that didn't like him to hang out with his friends, even though we were all good guys. She happened to like my girlfriend and me so I still saw him from time to time, even that was not too often.

Long story short, about 18 months after their son was born, she started cheating on him with her 40+ year old boss who was also married, with teenage kids no less. She was 24 at the time. As you might imagine, they got divorced.

Along the same lines, I have seen many a friend quit hanging out with their friends to spend all of their time with their girlfriend, and, each and everyone of them end up getting hurt by the girl and regretting that they didn't spend more time with their friends.

No healthy relationship requires a person to give up their friends!

Yes. My ex-husband wined and dined me while we dated. Even took care of me when I caught a cold. The day after our honeymoon ended, he turned into a ********. I left him shortly after.
