yes it does. and be careful of which updates you install ,also some cannot be removed . most updates windows needs. go to ask woody.com and read about them. woody don't trust Microsoft but he still uses the updates. check out his site. put it in favorites and see what he says about download Tuesday.

I disagree. They do take up space but not much. The updates are there for a reason and if you are getting to the point that these updates are taking up enough space to make you concerned about space left, you have a different problem. I really don't see how you can do much more installing like music, games, messangers or anything at all or even surfing webpages. You may really want to consider upgrading to a new hard drive or external hard drive and and move all those pics, movies, games, and such over to that larger drive. I would also recommend deleting what you don't need anymore (or even in the first place) and defragging your hard drive. If you are unsure of how to do that, click Start-> Program Files -> Accessories -> System Tools-> Disk Defragment. It wouldn't hurt to do a disk cleanup in that same menu before hand either. Depending on how long, if at all, the last time this was done it can take minutes to hours and hours to do.

I would recommend that you turn the Windows updates feature back on the for latest "fixes" and security enhancements. Yes, they take up hard drive space; in some cases a lot. If you are short on hard drive space, then you can likely add a second hard drive to your system (those are very cheap nowadays...)

yes they do take up space, however if you remove them it is possible the computer will work just fine without them depending on which ones you uninstall.

however my advice is to get a bigger hard drive and keep windows updated, cause they do help protect your computer.
