i think my boyfriends mother may have hired an investigator to watch us...what can i do...what are my rights?

you don't have any rights where that is concerned. but what can be done with that information legally is nothing. so you should go on with your life and don't pay any attention to her or the person you think is investigating you. if you are doing anythin illegal, of course, stop it for awhile, but if you aren't doing anything wrong, what are you worried about? you can't control anyone else but yourself. so do that and if what you say is taking place, she will be out of alot of money for being paranoid. and probably will have cried wolf so many times, no one will take her seriously anyway, therefore, losing her credibility. you will then have the upper hand. sit tight, do nothing, reap the benefits.

Not sure about your rights, but I'd hire a PI to find the other PI, and then proceed to unleash a very mean dog on the guy tailing you.
If that happened to me, I'd stomp him and then claim I thought he was stalking me for the purpose of robbing me or worse. Stomp the mess out of him. Smack him around until he tells you who hired him.
