APPLICATIONS FORMS FOR ARMS LICENCE ARE AVAILABLE IN THE OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT MAGISTRATE HAVING JURISDICTION...AFTER THE FILLING UP THE FORM AND DEPOSITING THE REQUISITE FEES A POLICE INVESTIGATION IS DONE AND IF ALL CLEAR IS GIVEN BY THE POLICE ABOUT THE CHARACTER OF THE APPLICANT A LICENCE IS ISSUED ..NOW THE APPLICANT CAN PURCHASE THE WEAPON OF HIS CHOICE AND CALIBRE ALLOWED IN THE LICENSE...THE WHOLE PROCESS TAKES LESS TIME IF THE APPLICATION IS ACCOMPANIED BY RECOMMENDATION OF POLITICIANS...

Certain firearms and weapons are prohibited, and those permitted require a Possession Licence. If you are unable to aquire a licence and take the firearm into India anyway, the local Customs authority will bond or seize the firearms until a licence is presented. Failure to declare the firearms could result in prosecution.
