My girlfriend and I were "playing around" last Sunday and it led to lying in bed looking into eachothers eyes and holding eachother, at one point she put her hand on my chest, to feel my heartbeat, that's when I knew she that really loved me. But I don't know if we are ready for sex yet, I need help deciding what to do.

You aren't ready - I can tell because you're asking strangers about this very personal matter. When you are ready, you will know it when the time comes. You won't need anyone to tell you.

WHEN YOU ARE READY:
Be ready - start carrying protection so that no matter where you are, you have it with you. Carry it on you, so that even if you are at your own place, you won't have to worry about getting up to go looking for it. Having it right with you at the moment will also show her that you had really thought about her and about this and were ready - that's definitely a good thing.

You will just know, in the heat of the moment. When the two of you get together you will just have this feeling. I suggest you understand what could come from sex. Make sure it is safe from both STD's and pregnancy. Also it is best if you are over 18, so at least that would be my suggestion.

If you don't know, you're not. I am very happy for you in your relationship. This stage you're in is a wonderful stage! But, if you are even questioning your readiness, you are not ready. Wait until you're sure, and make sure she is ready as well. Until then, just enjoy one another's love and company.

When and if you decide you're ready, always use protection. That is a great sign of respect, believe me. :-)

after you get married.

sex is a percious and pure thing that should be shared with only one person for the rest of your life. of course most people don't believe in this anymore and that's why so many hearts get broken, too, because it is all about sex and desire with whoever is attractive, even if they are married or in a relationship.

well, when you both decide that you are ready, find out about all of the consequences of sex, unprotected, the fact that protection is not fool-proof, unplanned pregnancy, STD's...etc. once you find out about all of that and you can talk about that with ease....you MAY be ready
