Whenever I move my mouse, it sometimes slides to the other side of the screen. What wrong?

If you have an old-style mouse with a ball, try removing the retaining ring, removing the ball, and cleaning it with a qtip. Sometimes dirt and lint cause the rollers inside the mouse to become 'sticky' and send false signals resulting in the pointer 'drift' you were referring to.

Try changing the mouse pad??

If your mouse has software with it, reinstall software and then you can configure it to go faster or slower. If it's wireless, sometimes that's just part of having a wireless mouse.

Have you checked all mouse options in the Control Panel.

it may need cleaning...especially if it's a traditional mouse with the ball (instead of optical)
