WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush unapologetically defended his approach to North Korea's nuclear weapons program Wednesday, pledging he would not change course despite contentions that Pyongyang's apparent atomic test proved the failure of his nearly six years of effort.
If Bush can have wonderful relations with Pakistan, and call Pakistan a strategic partner in war on terror, despite Pakistan's nuclear status, than why not consider north Korea as a strategic partner the same way as Pakistan.

Because they won't listen - they want to dictate thier point of view and not have open dialogue with us. Pakistan's leaders encouraged talk - the N. Korean government will not.

Imagine if all the world would have a conversation with each other with openness - you would not have had to post your question!

Their leader is obviously not a rational, sane man. He wants to sit down with the U.S. in order to give legitimacy to his regime. He will look like his work to gain the nuclear weapon has made him an equal in all ways to the countries who already have that technology. Respect to the people of the nation who must suffer under such a ruler is more of a possibility than respect to a man who is pushing the world to the brink of a nuclear showdown.
