I am a HUGE Oakland team and let me tell u i was biting my nails the whole during the 9th innning. The tigers pitching was great tonight and the A's have done better. the A's have GREAT pitchers and batters but when they are out if their game there is no return. tonight id have to say Chavez had a huge impact in why they lost but i may be wrong. I kinda feel bad for frank thomas the whole game was on him and he hit a pop fly bases loaded!! :( there's stiil more games, whi knows they might make a comback :)

I am have been surprised at the way people are trying to make excuses for the way the top teams play, in this case Oakland and New York, instead of giving credit to the Tigers for playing some great ball. Nothing has gone completely wrong. They have just come up against a team that is playing very well right now. The Yankees were in the same predicament. Give the Tigers at least some credit instead of excuses for the A's.

Simply put: The pitching is what went wrong. The A's were the 6th worst hitting team in all of baseball this year. They were the 4th worst in slugging %. 5 runs is more than can be expected from this offense. What was going to make this a good series was that the pitching staff for the A's was supposed to be deeper and better. If the pitching doesn't hold up, they really don't have a chance. They don't score a bunch of runs, and their clutch hitting is atrocious. I am a hugs A's fan, and I'm pretty worried. Hopefully, Haren is as good as he usually is, and Harden is healthy, otherwise they won't come back to Oakland.

Nothing went wrong!! It was a good game. Lots of hits, lots of runs!! What's wrong with that?? If you're an Oakland fan I'm sure it didn't turn out the way you wanted but that's the way it goes. Face it, the Tigers are a better team. It's hard to beat a team that is firing on all cylinders.

Adam I watched my Indians play the Tigers and than play the Yankees this year. From my observations I felt that the Tigers were not as flashy but they are tough and just win games. I felt very strongly they would defeat the Yankees, and I feel they will Oakland too. Dont ask what is wrong with your team or the Yankees, Just ask how did the Tigers get so good? Pitching wins championships. I wish your As luck though.

Detroit won again and now leads 2-0. Tigers pitching has been solid and the A's have not hit too well. In a series like this, home field advantage is out the window.

It was a good game.
Credit to Oakland for making it close.
Honestly I was a little nervous.
Oakland is a good team, and even though I am geeked (see my avatar), I know it's not over yet.
I'm thinking The Tigers are simply destined to go all the way.
I am well aware of 2004, and I know it could happen.
I'm hoping it doesn't

Detroit won 95 games this year. They are legit. Don't let the last week of the season fool you. The White Sox almost collapsed last year & they were able to win it all with ease. The series is not over yet, but the A's are sinking fast.

It was probably pitching and of course the 9th inning
that went wrong for Oakland tonight.
But, man! It was a great game.
Both teams played very well!
And I'm so proud that at least one CA team is still alive.
