I don't know if it violates animal cruelty laws.

I've gotten a lot of negative heat for this question. It should be noted that is only a question and I would like to know if someone (a friend) could be held accountable for this stupid behavior. At any rate I love all feedback from people who thought I was talking about myself and not some one else.

Also I'd be curious to know why so people would consider killing a robin illegal (which I would strongly agree with), but not decapitating an innocent turtle in a grocery store or allowing the grocery to sell a turtle to someone that they know is going to kill in a cruel way?

Collars and bells do no longer artwork because of fact birds do no longer understand a bell as a threat sign. And cats kill birds because of fact, properly, that's what cats do; they might't help it. the only useful thank you to resign the cat is to maintain it indoors or scare all of the birds out of your neighbourhood. My cats the two get out daily - the birds discovered an prolonged time in the past to ward off our backyard. I genuinely have an extremely territorial canine that frightens any errant poultry from the backyard. we've in simple terms resigned ourselves to staring on the birds interior the timber around the line. ................. and that i've got no longer any thought what a prior responder thinks that declawing a cat will do to save birds. A declawed cat is in simple terms as able to bringing down a poultry as a clawed cat is. the only ingredient a declawed cat can not do is stay a discomfort unfastened existence.

I believe there is a federal law against the killing of songbirds. In general, it is illegal in any state to kill any bird not specifically listed as a gemebird or a nuisance animal.

It might be legal if you use a wrist rocket or a BB Gun on your own property. Hard to believe a simple robin is annoying you to the point of wanting to kill it ? Oh well. Good Luck ! :)

If you don't inflict unnecessary cruelty, it's fine. You could shoot it for example, but you might be in trouble if you poison it.

And of course, make sure it is a common bird, not a protected species - there are severe penalties for killing a protected bird.

Depends on what you use to kill it. You may not operate firearms within a certain distance of public buildings. Just deal with it man. You are no better than the bird.

It's illegal to kill any1/ anything no matter what they do. Just get rid of the bird, but don't kill. It's against the laws of nature.

If you have a cat (like i do) that disgustingly kills birds because its mom was a ferel cat. Well my cats life story isnt important then techniquly it isnt your fault BUT, we to had an ANNOYING blue jay that squack at 6 every morning and then had babies and then moved to somewhere else. So eventully it will go away. But i cant believe you would want to kill an innnocent bird. I tohught my cat was bad but remeber its his instinct nad i dont think its yours.

It depends on what kind of bird it is. You cannot kill a protected species. However, you have some rights to kill pests. If it is not a bird that is normally hunted, then you probably can, but your local conservation department will be able to tell you depending on what kind of bird it is.

are you serious..
the answer to your question is rather a simple one..
NO!! It is not legal, unless I suppose, the bird was a morning dove.. and then, you darn best make sure you eat it!

Maybe you can bake the birds in a pie.. and pretend to be king
