i don't think getting married is the answer to financial problem. i am single with 3 kids and 2 jobs. I don't get child support. my mortgage is due and the phone is past due, electric almost got cut off last week. But i would rather do it on my own then to have to live with someone i didn't love just to pay the bills. And every time i pay a bill i feel good knowing that i managed to do it on my own. Try changing careers and finding something with better pay.

I agree with you. WTF! It is very hard in this day and age to make ends meet. The minimum wage is way too low. Prices have gone up for everything? There are no check and balances going on in Washington, dc. Most are so corrupt they don't care about us who pay their salaries. We need representatives who look out for us "middle class people", not just the rich. We need an increase in the minimum wage, then other salaries will go up too. We need rep. who will do things to restrict increases in oil, gas, medical care, pharmaceuticals, insurance. These companies need to looked into to see if they are breaking laws that protect us from greedy companies. We need unions to look out for workers, because those in office sure as hell won't.

I figure you have 2x the expenses as a couple. I would think it would be easier single without any baggage.

divorce is expensive though...get a roommate, you can always just move out if things get sticky.
