what's the difference between?

a 2nd hand store ,and a flea market.
Is there a difference?

I think one difference is one is a store with an actual store front. Somewhere you go that has established hours, like Tue - Sat, 10 -8 or something. It's one owner. They may have some items on consignment (meaning they belong to someone else and when it sells, the original owner gets some money as does the owner of the store).

Flea market is a place where just about anyone can setup a stand and sell anything they want. THey rent the space for a day each week or two days a week or whatever. So it's many stands, stand space is rented. No theme necessarily.

I think another difference is 2nd hand store tends to have better quality consistently but with a flea market you can find some real treasures.

I'm not too sure just that maybe a 2nd hand store is open all week long and the flea market is only open on the weekends, at least around here. Regardless your still getting 2nd hand stuff.lol.

Flea markets are generally outdoors and sell mostly new small items that are of cheaper quality usually. They don't sell much clothing. They also have some antiques and things like that. They may also have some handmade items such as furniture etc. Second hand stores are indoors and sell mostly previously owned clothing and other used items such as toys etc..
