Example: a man and a woman had lived thier entire lives unexposed to any other people and then they find each other and they like each other. Would they not kiss because they'd never learned it or is kissing not neccessarily a learned behavior but an instintive one?

Good question. I think maybe people would, but I'm not sure it would be as a romantic gesture, or at least the first kiss wouldn't be. Maybe an accidentally touching of lips, which would lead to kissing on the mouth, but I don't think they would instinctively kiss each other.

I'm not sure. I do know that monkeys kiss, but I'm not sure if it is a learned behavior or not. Some cultures (or families) look down on kissing. I think that in humans it is a natural process, but that it may be suppressed by societal norms.

It's hard to say for sure, but I think they would. After all kissing had to come from somewhere, it's just instinct when you have a moment and feel the urge to kiss someone.

I think they would. Isn't kissing instinctive behaviour that people engage in when the moment is right?
Think about it this way. How did our ancestors first learn to kiss?

Better question. I think kissing is a human development, except for bonobos, I believe. I think experimentation would lead to kissing, but not before " other things " had been tried.

Think about the Inuits(Eskimos) here and you'll possibly have an answer. They don't kiss, they rub noses. Other cultures also don't kiss and use other ways of expressing affection to one another.

Remember the Blue Lagoon, they did more than kiss. Then again that's Hollywood. I don't see why not.

No, they would start eating each other. Kissing comes from cannibalism. It's true. I kid you not. Look at my face. I am dead serious. Look it up.
