I'm in 8th grade and have a science/ physics problem...

my teacher is requiring the class including my group (group of 3 boys and me) to do a science project based on sound and light.

vibrations/mirrors/ reflection...

DO YOU HAVE ANY THEME SUGGESTIONS on what you would like to see in a sound and light show?, please help!!!

Hmmmm, Vibrations, sound, and light? I'm thinking lissyograph.
you need two small mirrors, a few elastic bands, a tube of silicone rubber, a coat hanger, some piano wire, a light source that can be focused (spot light), a piece of wood for a base, and a couple of cheap speakers. Fashion mounts out of coathangers and mount the mirrors with the elastics so that one mirror pivots around a vertical axis, and the second pivots around a horizontal axis.
Fix the lightsource to the wood base. Fix one mirror to the base in front of the light source at a 45 degree angle, so that the beam of light is deflected 90 degrees to one side. Fix the second mirror in the light path at a 45 degree angle so that the light beam is bent back to its original path.
Fix one speaker behind the first mirror and use the silicone to glue a piece of piano wire between one side of the mirror and the cone of the speaker. Do the same with the second mirror and speaker. After the silicone has set plug the speakers into an audio source (Stereo)
What will happen here is your left channel of the stereo will move the cone of one speaker in and out, causing the mirror to vibrate from side to side (and deflecting the light beam side to side). The right channel will drive the cone of the other speaker which will vibrate the other mirror up and down. The tightly focused light beam will bounce off first one mirror, then the other, and project on the wall a spot of light who's position is dependent on how the mirror combination is vibrating.

Hi. Float a mirror on a piece of wood in a pan of water. Shine a light on it and watch the reflection on the ceiling. Tap the pan and see what happens.
