It is possible to marry a first cousin in many states.
Recent medical research ( and it scares me there is such research) but there is little medical issue with 1st cousins have children ( which is why the marriage was not allowed)
And you are asking about marriage of relations, not incest which 1st cousins are not normally viewed as that.
And after children are raised, the actual "incest" having sex with brothers/sisters, father/daughter and so on, are often not illegal ( sick but not illegal)

that's just gross.....so did she MOVE to WI so that she COULD marry her cousin? or did she want to marry her cousin and happen to discover that it was legal in her home state? Ya know, I have some pretty hot cousins...but ICK!!! That's a line I just couldn't cross. Maybe like a 5th cousin, twice removed...IF I didn't know before hand.

26 states allow first cousin marriages; most people can marry their cousin in the US.

In some states it is not illegal to marry your first cousin. I am not sure positive, but I think in Maryland they allow you to marry a first cousin. Could be wrong.
