What BOOGIE49er's said is definitely beautiful...but having spent 17 years living in Fairbanks, I'm ashamed to say that I started to take it for granted. And the sub-zero temperatures you have to endure to see it, just wore me down.

However...the most beautiful spot to me...would have to be Mackinaw Island, in the upper peninsula of Michigan. You have to take a ferry to it, vehicles are banned, so you walk, bicycle or take a horse drawn carriage around this beautiful 8 mile-long island. It's where the film "Somewhere in Time" was filmed and staying in The Grand Hotel (the hotel in the film), is just an experience in and of itself. I know it's not the most beautiful spot on earth...but the weekend I spent there was just magical.
