They still have to try and determine the cause. There was a distress call placed by Lidle before the plane crashed. Obviously, there was something wrong with the plane. I dont think this had anything to do with how long he had his license before this happened. Not to mention, his flight instructor was with him, from what all the reports are saying, so it had to have been something that neither of them could have controlled.
Very sad, my thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and son, and to his team mates all over Major Leauge Baseball

I personally believe something went wrong with aircraft. Like a previous post said, there was a distress call, and the flight instructor was on board. Fuel Valve? Flight controls? Engine sucked a valve? Who knows. The NTSB may come up with the answer, and I'm sure Cirrus, the aircraft manufacture is scrambling also. http://www.cirrusdesign.com/
Tragic event no matter what.

Cory Lidle...man that is crazy, crazier than Darryl Kyle (I believe thats it i was young and it was awhile ago) for the Cards...sad.
They said he was only a pilot for 7 months and he lost control, got it up over 1 building and the building after was just too high.
RIP

I'm sure it will end up being pilot error.
Sure, I feel sad for the family, but what the heck was a novice pilot like this doing flying over populated areas of NYC? Darwinism in action - just like JFK junior.

I think that there are many things that might have happened. Suicide (doubtful), passed out, chocked, technical issues, avoiding collision, reckless flying, or simply flew too close and was pushed down by the wind.

I heard the airplane was like soaring through buildings and the wings were tilting back and forth, like they were messing around
