Unless you have a special maintenance policy, manufacturer warranties cover mechanical defects only. Whoop out your paperwork and see what you have or call your dealership. Some people have purchased special policies and don't even know it!

I do know that many manufacturers have started throwing in maintenance so READ!

If you are talking about Kawasaki's GTPP warranty, its a good warranty to cover your bike with. It does not however cover maintenace related items like tuneup's oil changes, chain wear and tear, tires, brake pads, clutch wear. It is a fully transferable warranty.
Most bikers that I know do there own repairs.
Most Motorcycle dealers that also service bikes are just as expensive are car repair shops.
A major tuneup on most motorcycles including valve adjustment will set you back between 250.00 to 750.00 dollars depending on your year make and model motorcycles.
I got the Kawasaki GTPP warranty with my 05 Kawi just for piece of mind. It covers the bike for 4 years after the factory warranty ends.Which just ended BTW
If I have a major engine or trans failure, It won't cost me a dime but the 100.00 dollar deductible.
I have all ready racked up 18000 miles on my 05 without any problems yet, So Did I waste 450.00 bucks on the extended warranty? Maybe, Maybe not because its an unlimited mileage warranty and the rate that I ride I'll put over 70000 miles on my KLR and no doubt somethings going to break by then. Most bikes life expectancy is around 30 to 40000 miles before engine overhauls unless you own a BMW. My friend bought a 05 Harley softail, ran it for 10000 miles with all dealer services done at Harley and the cams siezed in the head, no he didn't buy the extended warranty and it cost him 4500 dollars to fix it and he still owes money on the bike.

NO! Warranties do no longer hide unintentional or crash injury. Warranties are for production defects. which comprise your blinker quits working perfect. Your coverage could hide the crash injury.
