This were his exact words:

"Okay you have this little circle of skinny white people, and outside of that circle is all the fat white people, puerto ricans, blacks, etc. that's how we look at the world even if it's in an unconscious state"

Sometimes I find it quite true since I see that here in the South you have the big society of White people who manage all the town events... and then you have the rest of the people.

I am a big white guy in the south... you know, I think you might just have hit on something there. I'm certainly not one of the "daily-suit-wearer's" , and they do seem to stay amongst their own, and look down on all outside their group, which contains no blacks, hispanics, or big people. Wow! I'm being ostracized and discriminated against.... Ain't that a trip!
I'm with ya there, brother.

I am Irish, Welsh, German, Cherokee and Black Dutch. Where is my circle?
You say in the South there is a big society of white people managing the towns events...Why don't the rest of the people get involved and become active in the town events as well? What is holding them back?

There are a lot of skinny white people who don't run much of anything.

I can see where the root of your friend's statement could come from, but the statement itself, and the belief that that's how we all look at the world is not correct.

There are a lot of people who'd like to pretend that race doesn't matter, but it does, because our mind are wired to put people in categories. It doesn't mean that people are racist when they notice cultural differences among groups of people, as long as you remember that everyone is an individual, and treat them accordingly. You must overcome the urge to equate a generalization about a group into a pre-judgement of one person.

Each of us is a radiant expression of the Divine.

i agree...thats pretty much the break up where i live (mississippi)

you have wealthy whites...and you have white trash

BUT...

you also have wealthy blacks and ghetto blacks

and that's pretty much the divide in all the races and nationalities

i too think it's a matter of how you were raised, i can get along with anyone no matter their background or bank account. it's about how you treat me and how well we fit and get along

not all white people are born and raised like that, and those that are, they are unfortunatly born and raised in an ignorant commmunity/town which often leads to racism and feelings of superioty towards other races. Its all a matter where u live and are raised.
