Well considering the Crespo and Heinze couldn't play maybe they WERE jinxed. You also need to consider that Teves didn't play to the best of his ability due to his knee injury maybe they lost because some of their strongest players were missing...

It's too early to get that concerned about Argentina this year. They will be able to replace Riquelme at some point, hopefully with the sillky skills and a little bit more pace. Then, they will be really dangerous. I also think that at this year's World Cup, things would have been much different had Pekerman kept Riquelme in to keep possession and help the defense. Instead, he went ultradefensive, and the best team in the tournament lost on penalties. Then, if they could have gotten by Italy, which I think they would after the high of defeating the hosts, it could have been Argentina-France, and one little loss to Spain wouldn't be any cause for concern for all of us who cheer for the Albiceleste.

I think coach Basile hasn't enought time preparing the players for the match. They meet just two days before the game, and it's impossible to organize the team and the tactics. Riquelme was fundamental for Argentina's good working. This is almost the same team in World Cup, without Riquelme this team has no identity. I Think Argentina is going to be a great team, when Basile find the replacement of Juan Román.
My name is Mariano I'm from Argentina. Sorry for the forced english.

They're going through a transition period.A moment of renovation. Normal... Don't worry they'll soon be back full blast.

PS I think they would benefit from having Daniel Passarela back as their coach.
