Im 20 years old and have been visiting planned parenthood since I was 15, and I refuse to go anywhere else. Planned Parenthood is not nessecarily income-based, they offer services to a general public, men as well as women. However they do provide great services to people who cannot afford to pay for them elsewhere at little or no cost.

Whether or not all services are free, generally depend on where you live and your state laws. For example, here in NY where I live, any minor is allowed to obtain any type of adolescent care without the consent of a parent and for free. Also, depending on the type of insurance you may have, will determine whether you qualify for free or paid services, however Planned Parenthood is known having the lowest costs on their services if there is any at all. At most centers, STD testing for you and your partner are free. Some places also provide free annual exams (these include pap smears, chlamydia/gohnorreah screening, examination of the cervix and uterus). Prescriptions for birth control are free. Alot of times they will stock pills such as Ortho Tri-Cyclen and Orth Try-Cyclen Lo on the premises. Condoms are also availible. They also give you prescriptions for the morning after pill as requested by the patient.

As far as birth control goes, the Orth Try-Cyclen is usually free, however for other methods like the Aless pill, Nuvaring, IUD, Patch, Depo depends on your type of health coverage.

Planned parenthood, also provides counseling services as well as surgical procedures like abortions and tubal ligation.

Again, depending on your health inusurance, these services may be at little or no cost. However, if you are a Medicaid patient every service given at any Planned Parenthood center is free.

If you have no type of health insurance, a social worker can work with you to either provide insurance for you at little or no cost or provide the services at little or no cost.

All facilities are certified and all practicioners are liscensed. As well mostly all clinics have a women-only staff.

All services are a 100% confidental and you can always have access to all of your medical records.

Ive been a patient at Planned Parenthood for over 5 years now, and even with the best health insurance on the market availble to me by my job at no cost, I still refuse to go elsewhere. They are absolutely great!

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Under 19 and a student, they have a program called...gosh I don't remember, but everything is free. After that, they start checking on income. And sometimes they have pills that I suppose are supplied to them for very low cost, and then they give them for free. At the clinic I went do Ortho Tricyclen was given free, as well as Lo Ovral, and a few others, but for stuff like Yasmin or Alesse, you have to pay. They really didn't pay attn to income when it came to the stuff they had in stock.

Also pap smears and STD checks were free for girls.

Look for one funded by the state though. Where I'm from, there are 5 planned parenthoods in the area, and only one goes by income, and it's state funded and way cheaper.

It's free to get the pill and for the appointment/exam if you are under 18 I believe and if you are older than that it is income based but, you won't ever have to pay pharmacy prices! Also, they'll never tell your parents or call your house if you tell them you don't want them to!

as much as I resent underage women getting help on a similar time as the elderly and individuals with valid actual situations ought to bounce by way of criminal hoops for tips I ought to declare no, as a results of fact this is by way of deliberate parenthood that girls can bypass to bypass get birthcontrol like the pill and the morning after. in the circumstances the place women get raped then tests tutor she's pregnant she nevertheless needs to have the skill to get the abortion if she needs to. extra beneficial to pay one time for abortion and tablets that avert being pregnant than for an entire life of welfare by way of women and girls who have not have been given any purpose of even attempting to assist themselves while they have maximum of ideas attributable to affirmative action. If i had a daughter i could ought to settle for the fact of the possibility she's having intercourse yet i could want her on the pill and making use of condoms fairly than having some self righteous jesus freaking assaulting her. i could additionally fairly see my daughter have a job then take a welfare verify. christians that like to scream abortion is homicide conveiniently overlook that jesus broke the regulation to assist the samaratan on the sabbath do no longer they? under age women, gays and lesbians, the homeless, those are our samaratans.

I don't know, but I think its a good place to avoid. After all, they are in business to make money, and they will find a way to get it from you.
