I have discovered a lump like object on my underwear line. At first I thought it could have been a pimple or ingrown hair but it hasn't gone away and it seems a little too big. It does sort of hurt like a pimple would. I read that people have said that it can be a swollen lymph node, but when I was feeling it, it feels like a lump of fat or something but it tends to get smaller at times than others. I can also pinch it with my skin so it's in the skin somewhere! I just don't know if I should see a doctor?

Interestingly enough, I had the exact exact -exact- same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. I completely freaked out, but my doctor was very reassuring.

My doctor said that it was a sebaceous cyst, and that it was nothing to worry about. Taking a warm bath would help the swelling go down. Just a hair follicle that has become blocked with stuff.

She said that if I was concerned enough about it, and if it didn't go away on its own, she could sort of lance it and drain it for me (a really teeny tiny incision to clean it all out, nothing major at all).

Luckily for me, it went away after a couple of weeks. I also found out that it's pretty common, and sure enough - I had another one a week ago but it has almost completely disappeared. Perhaps you're prone to them like me.

Anyway, I'd check with a doctor to be sure... but that's probably what it is.

Better to be safe than sorry! Make an appointment with your doctor now! I have had this as well and it was my lymph node, but the wondering can really make you crazy so put your mind at ease and see the doctor.

Your lymph nodes are probably swollen. They are located on either side and can change in size and even hurt when you apply pressure. It's a sign of infection.

It could be a boil, a cyst, or a host of other things. If it's not changed in a while you might want to talk with your doctor.
