I've heard it said that George Bush is responsible for lowering gas prices just before the election. I'd like to know how he does that. Does he have a super top-secret computer in the White House that he programs every morning, before moving on to the rest of the day's business? Is there an elaborate system of levers and switches hidden away that sends siganals to every gas station in the country, telling the station owners what to charge? Or does he use a fabulous mystical relic to magically alter gas prices at whim?
Maybe he doesn't fix gas prices at all... maybe he gets the Illuminati to fix them for him. Or maybe the aliens.
What is YOUR take?

Tammy, I don't understand your logic. You say everyone knows that Bush is heavily involved in oil -- but eveyone also knows (or ought to) that Al Gore is a big oil man, too...

So I guess I'm saying... what's your point?

Didn't you hear, OPEC is subservient to Bush. The lower price on oil is OPEC's way of thanking Bush for taking out Saddam. Saddam was never a real threat to the U.S., but he was a threat to his neighbors. They would have liked nothing better than to go into Iraq and take him out, but they did not want to use force against another Muslim country and thus stoke the fire of fundamentalist Muslims. Instead, they worked out an agreement with Bush; he would receive direct control over U.S. oil prices if he took out Saddam and gained control of the Iraqi oil fields. The fact that the Iraqi government has control of said oil fields is moot, that government is only a puppet government for Bush and OPEC.
And if anyone believes this crap, they are in dire need of severe shock therapy. The truth is Bush has no direct control over the price of oil. While his foreign policy does have effect on the market, OPEC is the only power that has direct control over the price of oil.

He would have achieved issues yet chosen to do not something! maximum human beings observed this problem coming. The prudent element to do replaced into to enhance the MPG of automobiles and do away with the class of light autos. as a exchange they made a invoice which will do this for the time of 2020. What a comedian tale! on the exterior it appears like he's doing some thing yet in the quick term not something! What replaced into all that talk approximately changing previous military, army bases to nuclear flora? Did he circulate by on something. Why even say issues like that. He vetoed law that could do away with earnings from the oil agencies. It exceeded the senate and domicile. Bush is an chilly, heartless guy who does not care approximately human beings, only money. Mark my words, this us of a gets into this style of mess economically and and specially using fact of his greed and the greed of oil agencies. do not you think of that for the time of his early days whilst oil replaced into at $10 a barrell and now we are able to $124 he might have arise with a potential coverage to stop this. What has he achieved? What coverage has he arise with to be sure the wellbeing of the human beings? all human beings with a sprint intelligence might have arise with an potential coverage. He intentionally needs intense oil costs!

OPEC controls gas prices and the company is not even located here in the U.S. There is nothing Bush can do about this. He can't force gas companies to lower the price of gas while OPEC charges more and more. I hate these conspiracies theories going around. This one isn't that hard to grasp.

GW Bush does not "control" gas prices, his buddies in the big oil business do. I believe they're doing this because they believe that it may make the difference in the upcoming election, and Republicans may still control congress next year. Either way, look for gas prices to rise, not fall, in the six months following the election.

Bush cannot lower oil prices. But he has lots of friends in the oil industry, and they have reaped billions in profits on Bush's watch. It would not be out of the question for the oil companies to take a temporary hit on their profit margins in order to help thier Friendly Neighborhood Big-Oil Republicans to stay in office so they can keep on ripping us off for another two years without having to face Congressional hearings.

Well, Ive never heard anyone say that Bush alone controls the gas prices, however, as we all know one of the biggest contributors to the republicans campaigns are oil companys. And we all know that Bush refuses to put a stop rate as to what oil companys can charge per barrel of oil. And Bushes family owns many oil companys, what do you think, dugh!!!!!!!!!!!! Of chourse oil companys are going to lower their prices in order to get the republicans back in office so they can continue to screw people and raise their rates as often and as high as they want.

He calls them up and tells them to lower the price or he will blow them up ???
It is all of course a matter of supply and demand plus the fear of political issues.
Look what happened to the stock market and oil prices today when a plane hit a building, it took several hours for it to settle back down

Man, you are sure giving Mr. Bush a lot of power! He doesn't control the price of gas or anything else, for that matter.

ROFL-Only the Republicans can do this. The Democrats are not allowed to ever know how to lower the price on ANYTHING. They are only able to raise prices and taxes. Then we swoop in and fix it.

He said when they were going up that he had no control over it. Since that's the case there is no reason for me to give him credit for the prices coming down.
