Rod Smith is consistent but consistently not putting up the numbers he should. J Horn right now is lost in the shuffle of Bush and McAlllister, Devey henderson is out, but will that be enough as they take on the Eagles!? I think the Eagles D could dominate this game. Arnez battle could have a big game, or...he could have a subpar game like he has 3, really 4 of the 5 games this season. The most consistent is Flurrey, he has a pass happy Mike Martx lead Offense and a gunslinger in Kitna throwing to him, coupled with the fact Roy Williams may be out. That put Furrey and possibly Hakim as the starters? If Jones can establish any run, Furrey will get many looks and the man has good hands.
Your not gonna trade for Smith, you would give up to much for a bye week fill in.
Good Luck, I know how you feel.

I personally prefer consistency over anything else so my pick would be Mike Furrey. I think I would rather go for the sure points rather than a boom or bust (Arnez Battle). He has produced so far, and like the guy above me said, he's in a Mike Martz offense and Jon Kitna will throw it a lot, especially since Buffalo is supposed to be stout against the run. Roy Williams is hurt too so he is sure to get more looks. Plus Battle is playing the Chargers, who have a good defense who will put Alex Smith on his back.

Let's also look at their stats:
Furrey has 25 catches for 283 yards and 2 TD's
Battle has 15 catches for 194 yards and 2 TD's

They both have 2 TD's so I see no real advantage to picking up Battle.

Joe Horn is playing Philly and he probably won't get much (plus like someone else said, he's lost in the shuffle, and he's lost a step, and he has to get used to a new QB).

Rod Smith's production is dependent on Jake Plummer and he can be inconsistent, though he could be just as good a pickup as Furrey. However, his production is down so far this year and so I think that would be a reason not to consider him yet.

Of course, this is just a bye week problem, so I think you'll be alright.

My ranking would be: 1) Furrey 2) Smith 3) Battle 4) Horn

Arnaz Battle has been on a roll lately with Antonio Bryant being double covered and Alex Smith throwing to Battle in the red zone. I'd go with Battle over Horn (old and slow and possibly injured and playing against Philly), Furrey (too small to run away after the catch). Smith's an okay play too since they play Oakland and Oakland sucks, but Battle has the most big play potential.

Screw all the other answers, listen to me. Don't trade for Steve Smith, you won't be able to pick up Greg Jennings this late, just play Arnez Battle of the Niners. He is in for a big week.

Horn or Smith.

Horn is over due and Smith is the career leader in receptions and recieving yards vs the Raiders

ummm none of them are really doing anything..try trading for a great wr...if you give some some two of them and a decent rb you can pick up Steve Smith.
Start Furrey if you only have one spot ..he's doing better then the rest of them and will continue to get you your points.

Go with Rod smith. He is usually targeted by plummer, but keep in mind their offense has been pretty bad lately...
