Do we have reprogramming centers established yet? Either way, I am obligated to turn him in though, right?

Being gay is not a crime nor is it a choice. Do you seriously think someone would choose to be gay in this homophobic envioronment? People have been killed simply because they are gay and you think that they choose this? You can not reprogram a person's sexual preference like you program a computer!

If you are really his friend you will support him because it was not easy for him/her to come out to you, I bet. If you outcast him and never talk to him/her then you are obvously not their friend after all.

You're an idiot by the way. Being gay is NOT punishable by law.

Your duties and responsibilities are to be a friend to your friend and work to understand that being gay is as legitimate a lifestyle as any other.

The problem is not your friend. It is you, your prejudice, your judgementalism, your self-righteousness. That's what you must deal with, and that is what your responsibility is. Your friend's sexual orientation is not your business. You have no duty, responsibility, or any rights at all with respect to his life choices.

'Turn him in'? Are you serious? Your friend has committed no crime, at least insofar as being gay is concerned. You should not hope for 'reprogramming' centers. You just might be the first one to be admitted.

Look inward. That's where the problem lies.

No, you tell him to lie about it and run for Congress. He can send sexually explicit emails to young boys. Then as a good Rep. you hide it for years until he gets caught and them blame it on the Dems for using it for political gain.

To tell him to practice safe sex. What makes you think your political affiliation has anything to do with your personal life.
Being a Republican is not a religion. Most Republicans have certain beliefs, less taxes, free enterprise, just to name only a few.

turn him in to who? The gay police? How about you just accept him for who he is? Your only duties and responsibilities are to be a Friend to your best friend. Your friend hasn't changed and he's not going to attack you, so you can relax there. If you can't handle this development or chose not to handle this, I'm sure he will understand. You have to do what is in your heart too.

being a good republican just means being a good person. you don't have to turn him in, just call him a fag and don't accept his phone calls anymore (specially the late night ones) and your second duty as a good republican is to let everyone know that as a republican you still don't support george bush. we must distance ourselves from this guy as much as possible. (i think he might be gay)

You are obligated to admit to your friend that you are a moron and you don't understand what he is telling you.
