i do my preps perfectly and I can balance for a long time but when it comes to the turn my supporting foot's heel drops and I can't land back in fifth very easily.

Try lifting up before landing. Take a breath before coming down, it will control your landing better. Also, make sure you're using your back instead of your arms to get you around. Even though you're closing your arms together, you shouldn't whip them together. Use your back to close off your ribcage and support.

When you are turning you want to be a little off center. Your shoulders should be just a bit forward to counter-balance your weight. If you are falling on your heel, this is probably the problem. Also, give yourself the right amount of momentum. Doing a single pirouette with enough force for a double will make you fall every time (which may be the issue if you aren't able to land - and stay - in fifth). And use you PLIE when you finish! Good luck.

before u do pirouettes do it without the turn just the position u are in when u are turning and try to balance
then do 1/4 turns with each leg then 1/2 turns with each leg then whole turn with each and so on if u can
and try to keep your arms up and strong when u turn also find somewhere to spot and have your standing leg straight.
i hope this helps

glovn is right, you have to relax your arms, if you keep them stiff it will stop your turn. keep your upper back and your head up and don't make such a big deal out of the whole thing, relax! that will help a lot too. maintain your alignment, don't let your pelvis collapse . . . that will pull you off balance. if you feel like your ankles are weak, do releve exercises every night.
