Lithium's atomic number is 3. Boron's atomic number is 5.
An element's atomic number corresponds to the number of protons in its nucleus.
If you were to fuse a Lithium and Boron nucleus together you would create an atom with an atomic number of 8....Oxygen.
But what isotope of Oxygen? To find this, add the atomic weights of each of the initial nuclei involved in the nuclear fusion process...
6 + 11 = 17 = the total atomic mass of the resulting nucleus.
Thus you would be forming Oxygen-17.
