How did he do that?, where did you get this info Asker?
Habeus corpus-In common law countries, habeas corpus (/'heɪbiəs 'kɔɹpəs/), Latin for "you [should] have the body", is the name of a legal instrument or writ by means of which detainees can seek release from unlawful imprisonment. A writ of habeas corpus is a court order addressed to a prison official (or other custodian) ordering that a detainee be brought to the court so it can be determined whether or not that person is imprisoned lawfully and whether or not he or she should be released from custody. The writ of habeas corpus in common law countries is an important instrument for the safeguarding of individual freedom against arbitrary state action.
Just in case anyone did not know what it meant.

You people should really do a little more research before you post. I'm not calling myself an expert, but I find it troubling that no media outlet in the country reports exactly what's going on. Instead they are just vague because they don't think Americans care (and, honestly, they don't pay much attention). The truth is, habeus corpus was suspended for any American suspected of having connections to terrorists in 2001. In March 2006, the Supreme Court said that the president did not have the authority to suspend habeus corpus for any US citizen. I can't decipher where the matter stands for non-citizens, but if you're a citizen, you still have habeus corpus. And it's not like this is unprecedented. I'm sure you're aware that the Military Dictator Abraham Lincoln suspended habeus corpus for everyone, and look how he tried to take over the country and institute a tyrannical regime.

Does Habeus Corpus mean 67% of the population during Saddam's reign relying on the government for food? Or would that be the slavecapade of an underweight, food-starved oppressee that fills the streetways? Who knows what Habeus Corpus means? Is that the mustard gas stuff? Oh no sorry, that's what Saddam gave Kurds to eat. In the last three years, I have dated an Irani, made many negative, publicly posted comments about imperialistic individuals, and all I ever got at 3:00AM was sometimes the sad, abrupt awakening to the reality of fact through knowledge that our countrys' few homeless live like God's compared to a large majority of the worlds population. (Ok, maybe sometimes Alyssa Milano dreams wake me up) Why would Bush wear a uniform? Bush is not directly involved in stopping your house from getting bombed-he "dictates" a memo for his secretary to have DNI Chief John NegroPonte to meet and have our tax-payed agents thwart this. Suits. Hey, do you remember when the CIA was going to try and give Castro LSD? Instead, relax, and try a Tampa, as you watch what you think is the world news of Cartoon Network on your melting clown couch, knucklehead. Who IS that picture of?

My homework thesis choice:
Executive Order 12333
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
Executive Order 12333 extends the powers and responsibilities of US intelligence agencies and directs the leaders of other US federal agencies to co-operate fully with CIA requests for information.
This executive order was signed by President Ronald Reagan on December 4, 1981.
One of the clauses of this executive order reiterates a proscription on US intelligence agencies sponsoring or carrying out an assassination. During the George W. Bush administration this proscription against assassination was reinterpreted, and relaxed, for targets who are classified by the United States as connected to terrorism.

This doesn't get nearly enough press. The death of Habeas Corpus is tragic.
This means anyone... ANYONE... can be declared an enemy and held without the protection of the Bill of Rights. This isn't exclusive to obvious Muslim terror suspects with suspicious ties.
It's the basic fundamental concept behind the Bill of Rights. It all but disappeared last week.
Any American citizen that's been wrongly profiled because of your last name or your appearance... I'd watch my back if I were you.
And if you think we're only targetting alien unlawful combatants: Jose Padilla, suspected terrorist, US Citizen born in Puerto Rico. Hasn't had a chance to defend himself yet. Not saying he's not probably a bad guy, but he's a US Citizen that was detained with no charges against him for three years since 2002.

world traveller...............
the world in North America is not the normal world though peolple think it is .I have lived in Canada most of my life and of course have travelled in the US as well.
My friend it is this simple.Peolple dont give a **** until they open their fridges one day and there is no food in it.
or until they come home and see their loved ones being hauled off in the Paddy wagon for suspicious activities.
Or god heaven forbid the remote doesnt work ,or the mall is closed or the gas pumps run dry.
How do you make a blind man see?Well a 2 week trip to northern Cambodia might wake em up.Or perhaps some time hanging out in Port au prince,Haiti
It wont mean anything until its lack is felt by enough individuals.BY THEN IT IS TOO LATE!!

All of our rights are being taken away by this administration and I don't think the American people are aware of it. They are too busy watching soaps and M-TV and playing video games to take the time to watch what is going on. By killing Habeus Corpus they have removed the Bill Of Rights out of the Constitution. Yes, we may all be hauled out of our homes at 3 in the morning and there is nothing we can do about it. We have NO RIGHTS any more. We won't know what we are being charged with, because they don't have to tell us. Watch out what you write. You have to be careful.

Laugh, and more laughs, POW's never had any habeus corpus rights, how can you take away something they never had,
If all the liberals were not crying to the ACLU to give rights to the terrorists that they should not have, this law would not have been needed.
The liberals brought this on thierself by trying to baby the terrorists and treat them like a law breaker who is a citizen with constitutional rights, not what they are a POW from a war.
