Actually I had an uncle who smoked cigars all his life and died from lung cancer. (He wound up with tumors the size of a baseball in each of his lungs.) I would say that the carcinogens found in cigar smoke are similar to those found in cigarettes. In fact, it may be in higher concentrations due to the fact that their are no filters on cigars as there are on cigarettes. Cigar smokers do inhale the smoke to some degree, and have higher rates of mouth and throat cancer than cigarette smokers do.
Second hand cigar smoke definitely seems worse than cigarette smoke just from the odor, which tends to be stronger, and persists longer in the environment than cigarette smoke does.

A cigar is actually worse. Smoking a cigar is like smoking 5 or 7 cigarettes at once.

thats a myth. the only way a cigar is different from a cigarette is in the curing process. you will get mouth cancer from smoking cigars and the possibility of throught and/or lung cancer by smoking them . some people just can tolerate the effects of smoking better than others.but it will catch up to you sooner or later.

Smoking either is bad for your health. But, because people generally don't smoke packs cigars a day, they lessen the harmful affects of tar, nicotine, and all the other chemicals in tobacco.

Cigars aren't as bad because there isn't all that **** inside of them like in cigarettes. In cigarettes there are poisons, tar, and a lot more crap. In cigars i think it is just tobacco.

it tastes much better and lasts longer, but to your point some people taste it rather than inhale hence no lung cancer, that's what my mommy tells me anyway.
