Are Dean ML hard to find as basses? What about Gibson explorers as basses any other recommendations...?

Gibson's Explorer was probably never made into a bass. As far as I know, the closest they have come is the Gibson Thunderbird. There may be a few rare ones, but I'm sure the price reflects that. Dean MLs are still made, though you may have to go online to find one. I know your feelings on the body design of an Explorer. I've wanted that design for a bass. A good look-alike is in Dean's Z Metalman, in the Metalman series. It has the lines of an Explorer, in an affordable package, so I've read. Check out Musician's Friend for their prices and probe around where you can, because I'm sure they're pretty hard to find. Good luck.
