Consider Simmel's concept of secrecy as it applies to personal romantic relationships; how do you feel about secrecy in the Simmelian sense in regards to your own relationships?

According to Loomis and Loomis, Simmel thought of secrecy of any kind as "hidden information." Even in his day (the late 1800's), information was a source of power.

In a personal relationship, the individual who has maintained her or his secrets from the other has also gained a power advantage.
