If you are running a wireless network, check your router manual.

It should be possible to encrypt it. You woul;d use the same key in your router and in your wireless computers. But don't tell anybody else.

Your router may support "MAC address filtering". It's a minor hassle, but you only have to set it up once. Find out the MAC addresses of your wireless computers, and put them in a table in your router. It will not let other MAC addresses join the network.

well im guessing it is wireless, you can
1: block by mac address *the easiest way*
i dont know what version or wireless router you are using, but you should be able to log into your wireless router using and ip address which would look something like this
123.123.123.123
you would go to a place *in the GUI* that says accept only the following mac addresses *or something of that nature* and you will type in a letter number combo that looks something like this
00-12-34-ab-cd-e5 *it will be 6 pairs of number-number, number-letter, letter-number, letter-letter.
you will want to put in everyones mac address you want to allow onto your wireless network.
for you to find out you and everyone else mac address to add to the list you need to do this
for pc
go to start--> run
type in: cmd (in the box)
then you will see a command line prompt
there you will type in: ipconfig /all *with the space between*
you will knowtice a lot of info pop up
you will need to look for a listing called: Physical Address
the number letter sequence listed here is what you need and is called the MAC address. get these from all the computers you want to allow on your network.
put them into the table of allowed computers *in the interface of your wireless router* and your good to go :)

what you have to do is do what's called a network transfer. if the person that's sneeked into your network is smart enough, he';; try to intercept you, which will kill his/her computer. now what you have to do is only use your recovery disc, reset your PC or mac, if you have wireless i that's all you have to do, if not you have to make sure that you dont check emails from persons that might look suspicious cuz that's going to mess you up again.
