I am considering lowering my car by about 1" to 2", front and back but I dont know exactly where the mechanic is going to put or attach the springs ( eg. Ebach sport spring ...) to. Do they still keep the original strut and shock in the same place. I saw pictures that some springs are telescopic around the strut and /or shock. Are these two the same thing??? how much work is there??? and how much will it cost for the 4 (?) springs approxmately???

All they do is replace the springs its real easy but I'm guessing they're gonna chare you about $200 and yes everything goes back in the same place and they should give you your oem springs back. The springs usually run under $200 and if you are planning to do it yourself its real easy in the rear its just the fronts that take the longest. If you plan to do it yourself you'll need:
1. Springs
2. Jack, jackstands
3. Tools of course
4. Spring clamps or compressor
5. Buddies to help you and some beers.....

The spring in the front will go in the strut. So the mech will take out the strut swap springs and the put them back in. The front take the most time to do. The rear depending on the veh (new veh have rear struts) will just lift the veh take out the rear and put the new ones in. The telescoping struts are called coil overs. They replace the struts in the front and springs in the rear so you can lower and raise your car. Coil over are more $$$ but are the better Way to go for handling.
