I wish to learn guitar. I want to get an electric guitar but don't want to spend a whole lot of money. Any suggestions?

Whatever you do don't buy a jam pack. Johnson makes good intry level guitars. So does Ibanez, and Epiphone.... all those guitars people mentioned before me ARE good guitars... I mean duh, of course you want a fender or a les paul... but you can't aford one. I play, and I'm currently teaching my boyfriend to play, and he's using a johnson

Fender Strat for an electric. You can get a standard strat for a good price (under $400), however, I would actually suggest purchasing an acoustic guitar. the reason is this. if you learn to play on an electric, which is easier to play than an acoustic, you will find your fingers hurt more when trying to play acoustic and it a little more difficult. but if you learn on an acoustic, you'll be faster when you do play the electric. good acoustics are: ovation, takamine, martin (expensive), taylor (expensive) washburn, and epiphone. hope this helps.

I would definetly get an epiphone.

maybe a player pack which is like a cheap guitar with a case, and an amp.

or just like a $300-$400 guitar, maybe a hallow body, definetly nice. WILDKAT excellent guitar, cheap, and sounds so nice.

Well, if you are about to start and going to take lessons you should get an Epiphone.

Maybe a Fender or Ibanez...
Acoustic should be better since you will be taking it places to take yor lessons or taking it to school...

And for electric.. I know Gibsons are over-rated but I still love them.

ok, if you want a good universal site for which you could "shop" around online go to www.musiciansfriend.com and there you could look at guitars in your price range, but as far as a good guitar? i suggest dean, they have some really good guitars and they won't break your wallet. i have a dean ML and it has great sound and it was about 300 dollars. pretty good priced, but anyways that's my opinion.

Fender Squire for $199 + tax is a decent starter.
