This is not a retarded question, please do look up retarded for its true meaning. To ask is to learn, the very opposite. If you get answers that are lame, it is because those people, 20 years out of middle school, are still stuck there, and do not know the true civics involved. "That is, your brain on drugs". Their job is to legislate new laws into or veto new laws out of, our current proposed laws. Really we call them Bills. The Bill of Rights*, the Constitution*, that suppose to guarantee our civil liberty's. Senators*, are the bodies which prepares and enacts our nations laws...
