Yes. Hate sites and porn sites should be censored. They do more harm than good.

I live in the U.K.(as i believe you do from the way you write), and we supposedly have freedom of thought, and freedom of expression as outlined in the European Convention On Human Rights which you should probably check out.In the ECOHR, it clearly states that all citizens (even of non european states) should expect to be able to express themselves freely and believe in whatever they want as long as it does not breach criminal laws in that country and does not contravene any other articles of the ECOHR. As long as you are expressing an oppinion or belief (is there a difference) and not presenting said oppinion or belief as fact, and as long as you are not inciting hatred, terrorism e.t.c, and a few other things, you should not be censored in any state which has integrated ECOHR protocols into its own laws (as the U.K now has). There are also loads of other things which affect what you have the right to say within ECOHR, but you'll need to read it carefully to work it all out and there is no precedence set for many possible breaches of it.
On the subject of pornography as long as the images do not portray an illegal sex act I don't see the problem- again this could possibly come under freedom of expression.
The problem is that governments while preeching freedom of speech, actually would rather you didn't have that freedom. Also they prefer it if other people perhaps in a different country could not express thier views to you.
Freedom from censorship on the internet is important because for many of us all over te world it is a way of getting around the lack of freedom imposed by our governments.
This is my view of internet censorship, and could give you a clue to some of the arguments of your opposition.

I am actually from the NO side, but I can help with the YES side:
The internet is is need of censorship, for there is BAD content on it.
It can prevent arguments and fights over content on the internet
People believe everything they hear/believe, so if it is censored, it will at least be more accurate.

it somewhat is a competent query. Yahoo! only bumped off a query of mine actually 10 minutes after posting it. i develop into asking human beings in the event that they believed in the hypodermic result, on a similar time as putting my case for the duration of as to why it does exist. If that's no longer the workings of censorship, i do no longer understand what's! for my section, censorship is a necessity, yet in ordinary terms on the grounds of inciting racial, religous or any form of risky hatred, besides as textile which ninety 9.9% of folk could discover offensive...you already know, the somewhat nasty, dark stuff. websites geared in the direction of scaring human beings into hating a particular religous team, for example, ought to be taken down. yet as quickly as we are talking with regard to the liberty of legitimite education, there should not be any censorship in that experience.

Depends on the site. Some things should be censored and others dont really have to be...maybe it could go by the age of the person using the net? Not really...
