I don't want to be unkind to the Muslims here but let us say that there is a spiritual component that causes strife between them.

Original Mohammad tried to get the Jews and Christians behind Islam and elements of both are incorporated into Islam and the Quran, but the Jews and Christians didn't want to have anything to do with him or Islam.

This probably started a feud or rift that never closed.

Then in the 1800s Europen Jews started buying land with financed money in Palestine from Arabs. I'm sure the Arabs conisdered that dirt "swamp land" as it was far from everything and nothing but sand.

By the early 1920's some Arabs started objecting to the considerable infux of Jews or as they were known Zionists (those favoring establishing the nation of Israel in what was considered Arab lands).

The fact of the matter is the boundaries of many "lands" were in kaos due to the many invasions and colonizations, the most recent being the Ottoman Turks at the start of 1900.

Britian, which had interests there with the Suez canal project and other things, worked out a deal with both the Arabs and the Zionists (which neither knew about) to divide up the lands. Part of the Palestinian terrotory (it was not a formal nation nor had been in centuries) was to go to the Zionist nationalists and the rest remained Arab Palestine. Syria, Saudi Arabia and Egypt were also given lands in the Palestinian area.

A faction of Palestinina Arabs didn't like this and became miltiation in the 1920 doing "terrorist" (or "freedom fighter") acts. The Zionists also formed their own "defense" league to fight back.

The two sides have been fighting ever since 1923.

The roots, however, go back to 7 AD

Prior to that the Romans and before that the Greeks occupied the Middle East and both Jews and Arabs (bedhouins, as they had no formal religion other than some PAgan types or nothing) were both under Roman or Greek rule. Greek was the official language of most of the Middle East. The Romans spoke Greek, because it was easier than teaching Latin to the new faction of the Roman Empire.

Since the formal state of Israel was initiated in 1949 the Zionists, if you will, have turned ISrael into an oasis, with farm lands, produce, livestock, thriving business and industry.

They employe many Palestinian Arabs in Israel.

The Arab portions are much like any desert you'd see in California with some green shrubby bushes and lots of sand, except for the Arab towns and cities which are fairly modern.

Israel, however, looks like Kansas or the midwest farm belt.

Fact: Hatred of Jews is a European phenomenon, not Middle Eastern. Arabs have big issues with the Zionist state of Israel. If you would bother to research the relationship between Muslim entities and Jews, you will find for the most part that there was a great deal of respect. Jews flourished in Muslim caliphates.

The Europeans are the ones who mistrusted and hated Jews throughout a major portion of European history -starting from the middle ages until today. The Holocaust happened in Europe, not in the Middle East.

Because they are decedents of Esau and the animosity you see between arabs, muslims, and Jews is a direct prediction from the Bible.
