"It depends". Some pornography i find repulsive and repugnant, other pornography i enjoy. I avoid the stuff I don't care for, I watch the stuff I like. That's where the decision rests - with the viewer. Nobody is forced to view pornography. Nobody. By and large, I believe that the easy availability of pornography (thanks to the internet), has contributed significantly to the large drop in sexual crime rates in recent years. Pornography provides an easy release for pent-up sexual frustration. While a large part of sexual crime doesn't directly have anything to do with sex per-se (it's more about power and control) - that sex is the outlet is important, and a lot of that is due to the tendency towards sexual repression (largely in the US). Pornography can provide a harmless release for some of the pent up frustrations - defusing a large part of the drive.
On the other side of the image though - the participants - as long as they are participating of their own free will, and aren't being coerced, then it's really nobody's business but their own.

I'll answer this way. Certain pornography is harmful to certain women. Define harmful... Do you mean degrading? Do you mean women are humiliated in some pornography? Some might be offended, some might find it degrading (probably the majority of women) but I don't think all of those actresses agree. I mean, some might even be enjoying there acting career! (and the money that such career affords them)

do you mean harmful in terms of the women who are making pornography? it probably is harmful then - they think they have to look perfect, risk getting std's, etc.
in terms of women looking at pornography, it's not any more corrupting to them than it is to men.
society decides whether it's acceptable or not, and which kinds are acceptable...for example, some of the photos in regular non-porn magazines would have probably been considered pornographic images 60 years ago.

I believe that pornography is not harmful unless its child porn, porn on rape, bestiality ( i just think thats gross). ALthough its not harmful to women in the porn, if some sicko sees women doing these things and attacks them, then its harmful to women everywhere. Also, if theres a guy who believes all women are like that and pressure women, same deal. sick. people have to realize that porn is just a fantasy on tape, nothing real, everything is meant for visual (and carnal) pleasure. Now for those who take it too far, thats harmful for everyone.

MY OPINION: No pornography isn't harmful to women. Acceptable... to each his own desire. Only YOU can decide whether it is or not.

it depends on where u are, women all over the world are being subjected to what we call pornography in America every day, its part of there daily life, and acceptable in there society. what makes it bad is when it is a degrading to women, and it is all relative to who you are and what you believe is right and wrong.

it's just personal judgement. if you're comfortable with what you're watching, it's not hurting yourself or anyone else. You are the only one who gets to decide what's acceptable in your life, so if you like it, enjoy it! I've seen some stuff that makes me cringe, but someone out there likes it. It's just like how some people think drinking is acceptable and others don't.

Sociologists Down Under assert that even fashion advertisement photographs depicting children in suggestive poses are dangerous. Such photos provide paedopiles with fodder and who use it as an excuse to perpetrate crimes against children and young women.

The only unacceptable porn is child porn. That is sick and wrong and illegal. The people that make or watch that should be sent away for a very very long time!!!! Other than that it's up to the person who is watching porn. If they're into gay porn or bondage and S&M that's their choice. Your most likely not going to be forced to watch a type of porn you don't like so just accept that every one has different tastes.
