Why not have a chat with your parents. If you find that the possibility of them not understanding isn't there, is there a close relative or friend you could talk too about it.
These days its not such a big deal as one would make it out to be. The only draw back about this is explaining to the two most important people and that's mum and dad.
I understand your still at college. There is a possibility some else is in the same situation. However if you have the time talk to a counsellor.

thats gotta be tough..I think that it all depends on how strong you are because people are cruel and don't always understand or except other people. If you are comfortable with yourself and aren't confused then you could wait awhile ..or if you have a good support group or supportive people you could talk to after you've told people you could start telling people you trust. Or mabey you should look in to support groups for transexuals and get more info on telling people and what to expect..you already know who your are,,you have to learn how to deal with others reactions..i know with suport you will be ok

personally, i think you should get it checked out first. I mean... just cuz you feel a certain way doens't mean it's true. You could feel comfortable around women... that doesn't make you lesbian... unless you imagine urself having sex with them ... so after you actual FIND out... like it's true and it's a 170 gajillion % positive thing... then you shouldn't worry about it... if you are... it's okay. If you were born this way then just tell who u want. it's no big deal. If ppl think any different of you because of this then they're not worth ur time

Well that is a tough decision.
If you have a very close friend and/or someone you can confide in without telling your current secret I would talk to that person.
Also if you can I would wait till after high school, kids are so mean you they will make fun of you because kids are dumb.

I would suggest that you research what is required for gender reassignment surgery-I believe they require you to live at least one year as the gender you wish to become.
Wait til you are 18 and on your own-that way if there is any parental disapproval it won't be so oppressive because you will be on your own. many states/cities have g/l/bi/trans. support groups that will help you with your adjustment and emotional support.
Being transgendered is a VERY hard life and many people do not understand. I suggest you find an open minded counselor and begin therapy to help you explore your self and your sexuality.
why do you identify yourself as transgendered rather than gay/lesbian?

I THINK IF YOU ARE ASKING THIS QUESTION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING TO WHAT YOU ARE WONDERING ABOUT. I SUGGEST THAT YOU MAYBE TALK TO A COUNSELLOR ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL. YOU DID NOT MENTION HOW OLD YOU ARE NOW, ONLY THAT YOU HAVE FELT THIS WAY SINCE YOU WERE 13 YRS OLD. BE WHO YOU ARE AND IT MAY TURN OUT THAT YOU GO THROUGH SOME VERY HARD TIMES, WHEN OTHERS DON'T UNDERSTAND. JUST FIND OTHERS WHO ARE OF LIKE MINDS AND YOU WILL BE HAPPY
I HOPE YOU FIND YOUR HAPPINESS .

dear heart - feelings are fickle - what may be true now - will be different later on.... that's why so many teen relationships fail --- they run on feelings of the moment.
I do suggest getting some counselling - so you have someone to talk openingly with them about what you are experiencing in your life.

Wait until you are an adult!. If some of your teenage "friends" hear about this, they may beat the s h i t out of you and kill you like they did to that "Gwen" person. Best not to tell anyone now

Weigh the options...be a transexual and mess up your life for sure, or wait it out a couple of years, and if you really are transexual your life will be messed up anyway. If you aren't, then no harm no foul. I suggest waiting it out.
