I just emigrant and married 7 month ago, applying my resident and work-permit. I am a housewife now and I hope it's not my final destination. We don't want kids too early cause I'm only 26. I want my career first. My dream job is to be a F/A. Do you think your marriage will effect what you want to do? I feel I have no one to discuss if I tell people I want to be a F/A. They'll said I'm married, it can be a problem if you cannot be home often. Or, I can go grad school. But before that I wish I can work save some money so my husband won't feel financially stressed.
Sometimes I'm wondering am I wasting my time being stay home. I really want to do something and make more friends. But I live in a very small town you may never hear. (only 1000 population, the neighbor town are all ghost town! 4 hours away from Vegas or Reno). I'm from a big city, it's a huge change to me.
What do you do if you were me? ...

It can be difficult to be an F/A being an immigrant alone never mind being married. Most federal companies that hire agents do a thorough background on people and if they feel that you are a risk or a leak they would not risk having you on board. I understand your situation Im married to an immigrant and he is trying to get a govermental job. Unfortunantly this country that is suppose to be so diverse becomes its own enemy. You might want to start off small by being an undercover person online (searching for petifiles) or work for a loss prevention department in a retail store...then with a few years of proven positive experience you can show you are trustworthy citizen of this country.

I haven't a clue what an F/A is.

I do know that if you are not home much it will be expensive and difficult for your family.

I do know that from living in a small town that jobs for wives are especially difficult to get, because jobs in general are hard to get.

Small towns are best for raising children w/ a stay at home mom. esp in America. Give it a chance since you are there.

Now often much can be done in a small town .. that is inexpensive and gets you active.

good luck.

Dream job is as a Psychologist with my own practice, where all the clients are wealthy professionals, with the relatively minor problems like the ones in the psychology text books.

I would advise you to get a graduate degree, assuming you already have a B.A. It will open up a lot more doors for you, and you may even discover your ultimate dream job!

LOLOL.. Marriage isn't death. Do your household junk, watch the kids, and get a paying JOB. Or, you could volunteer if you're looking for generic busy work.
