Sounds to me like you already know what's best for the both of you. Wait. If he approaches you, then you know. If he doesn't approach you, then you know that either he's not interested, or he's not a man.

Hey, some could say that I'm no love expert, but I've got some common sense. If you've ever heard the saying, "You only live once." saying, it's somewhat right. Once, I really liked this boy, and I didn't go for it. I lost my chance and have no real hope of getting him. So go for it. Ask him to just have dinner or something. Maybe an extremely casual date, slightly in between "friendship" and "dating." Don't go to far. Make sure you do something you'd both like, and if you have fun, tell him. If you don't, be honest, but not harsh. If you're still too worried to tell him, beware that if you don't act, you COULD (but NOT definitely) lose him. That's what happened to me. I still regret it, and it still bugs me. If you ask him, at least you'll know you tried.
... If you don't, you'll be left forever wondering what he might've said...

Hope this helps!

This should not risk anything. I had a girl in high school that liked me, but i didn't like her. We talked about it and i said i wanted to be friends still because i enjoyed her company, i was just not attracted to her. A bit honest, but we remain friends to this day, if he freaks out he is immature.

Nothing. Stay safe and never take any risks; worry all your life about things but don't ever end up doing them because you never know...your worst fears may be realized. Know what? Best to lock yourself in a closet and never come out.

Just tell him, it is gonna be hard, but you need to let him know how you feel so he can do the same. Or try to ask a question/pick a conversation that will get him to spill his guts on the matter.

Play a game of truth or dare.
Make this your second question to ask : "If you could pick a friend to date would you choose me?" If he said yes, then great! If not, make the next question you ask something that is completely different - like asking him "Would you ever betray a trust?"

well think about it this way: if you get together theres a big chance you guys will eventually break up and then you can't go back to being friends.
Let things happen naturally and go with it, if you force it, it can go sour.
if you are impatient then examine how you feel in 6 months from today, if you still feel the same way about him then tell him.

tell him as soon as possible if he really is a friend you will not loose him as a friend ,he may kindly say that he just wants to be friends ,in the worst case scenario.

at best he may grab you and kiss you pasionately on the lips.
what have you got to loose.

No, you shouldn't because you sound a little young, and friendship should be more important at your stage in life.

You only live once.
Take the chance.
Who knows, he may feel the same way and just be a little shy.
