Because they are worried that they wont be number one in their sons lives anymore.
My mother in law and I dont get along a single bit! After 8 yrs of marriage, my mil and I dont even talk now.

They have a really hard time letting go! I had the same problem. My husband and his mother did not have a good relationship. When we were dating and he wouldn't come home for 2-3days she never bothered calling if her son was there or doing okay! To say the day we were getting married ,she did not attend!! but as soon as he moved out and realized he was happy, she then started to come around little by little. Why is it that now is that she is doing this? who knows, i think shes a hypocrite. She calls him constantly and tells him to go over her house, i told my husbad to tell her that she knows where we live too! Shes seperated and shes got no life, shes even faked that shed had breast cancer! This is how far she'll go to get her son's attention.Now that's really sad. Im a mother of 3 boys and i understand that they will always be my little boys no matter what the age, but how are they become men if we dont let them be. She needs to know that he has other responsibilities in life and that she has to back off. Your husband needs to put a stop to her nonsense.He needs to talk to her seriously. Anyways, he is your husband and as long you are married to him remember, you will have a MIL!! Good Luck

I love my mother-in-law. She is a very special lady. She likes me and takes care of my kids, so that they do not have to go to day care. My husband pays her, but she would do it for free. She is a great cook. She taught me alot. She has great stories to tell of her country. I do not know how I could keep my family going with out her influence. You have to love you mother-in-law or your marriage will never work.

Because they gave birth to that husband of yours and were the main woman in his life for his first (however many years). Because the daughter-in-laws have a greater portion of the son's time than they do.

well i want say all mother in laws are jealous but you have to understand this is there child who has been with them for a x amount of years like your teddy bear its hard to even think of parting with your love one its not jealousy in most cases its the fact they maybe ;losing there baby boy are girl bare with them and let them ajust to the new idea of having a in law.

i think,it depend on the character of the mother.
i've 2 motherin law and both of they are love me so much
but,
if the case is real happen to you
(your mother in law jealous with you)
it's better if you talk to her ,
and always make she happy

b/c their son no longer goes to his mother for everything...he goes to the new women in his life (supposed to at least) they feel as tho they are no longer needed

THEY ALL AREN'T. SOME ARE VERY NICE AND THEN THERE'S THE OTHERS WHO SEEM TO MAKE UP FOR ALL OF THE NICE ONES. JUST HANG IN THERE FOR YOUR HUSBAND. HE'S THE ONE THAT COUNTS.
