My husband and I have really enjoyed the Terry Goodkind series, and wondering about other books similar to his, with the wizard, witch and warlock themes. We like Terry's because they are so well written and make sense. Anyone out there have any recommendations?

George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.
All of Raymond E. Feist's books.
Mercedes Lackey's "The Obsidian Mountain Trilogy", and any of her other series.
Joanne Bertin's "The Last Dragonlord" and "Dragon and Phoenix".
Terry Brook's books about Shanara.
R. A. Salvatore's "Forgotten Realms" books.

And on the subject of Terry Goodkind, Sam Raimi now has the rights to make T.G.'s books into movies/mini-series. Scroll down to "WFR to be made into TV miniseries".

The only Terry Goodkind book I've read is 'Wizard's First Rule', but it was awesome. Not really sure of much along the witch and warlock line.......Christopher Stasheff had a series of warlock books, here's a link that lists them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Stasheff ,.
And Terry Brooks has the Magic Kingdom series, starts with 'Magic Kingdom For Sale: Sold'. Not sure they'd really fit into a category of "similar" to Goodkind though. Oh, maybe try L.E. Modesitt, Jr. I haven't read many of his yet, but I did like 'The Magic of Recluce'.

Except for the fact that Kahlan screws the pooch (then cries) to Richard's detriment... hey I love the books! Check out the Dragonlance trilogies, & the Belgariad trilogy. Easily among my favorite gray miserable boring day re-reads.

I don't know of any similar but I do love the sword of truth series. I bought the newest one last month and my gf was going crazy.
