I think now a days the news is on so often. This makes the news people have to find bad stories like who got shoot and what house burned down.

It depends, in the 50's and 60's it was less influenced by advertisers, but the stories were slow to show up on TV, and then it was bad video. Today the advertisers have a big say over what is or isn't shown, or the network's don't criticize the government if they are trying to get licenses or exceptions to FCC rules or regulations, but the stories are delivered soon after an event in High Definition. I prefer the poor video and objective reporting, All the networks have undue influence but, the Fox News Network has the least objective reporting.

Better. There's at least more choices. Edward R. Murrow was a good guy, but his life story is no George Clooney movie.

The new is far better today. You can get up to the minute coverage 24 hours per day.

The best thing is that one group does not control the information pipeline.

Today you can watch CNN if you are an ultra Liberal or Fox if you are conservative. You do not have to listen to the other sides propaganda if you do not wish to.

I have to admit, I listen to NPR to get the other sides perspective, I hate paying for it though . It is much better then Air America which commits the ultimate sin of being boring

The TV news has gotten better, with the technology that
we have, but I think the Internet is starting to give them a run for their money.

Oh Yeah, the news was so much better then. Walter Cronkite would say, "People don't agree with the President" and Eric Severide would say "You're right" and Cronkite would say "Well, that's the news" and the show would close. And they made these bimbos national ikons for that type of drivel.

eh... I think it's worse... it seems like murrow had ethics... these guys today... some have ethics... but there are so many that don't, those guys that do get lost in the wash...

Murrow would bust Bush's balls constantly if he were around today.. hahahaha

Much worse. Fox is the only redeeming factor. Play on words?

Thank goodness for fox news. The liberal media is a joke and anti-American. Sound familiar?
