China is a player and Japan is not. The future economic powers will be America, China, and the EU. That’s the game and we cannot hurt ourselves fighting for second tier countries that would just as certainly screw us the first chance they got. Japan, as all countries do, thinks about itself first. We owe Japan nothing special.

Yes, and the explanation for our cut should be that they are dragging their feet too much regarding North Korea. China is booming, let them be punished for assisting a nuclear tyrant.
